 | QUEST - 2009-12-28 09:26:24 | | | Merry Christmas/Happy New Years Events! | | post by nitehawk | | I do not have many 'free' days that I can run events, but today we should be running events back to back! They have however been delayed until we get a bit more players online. I am hoping around 12PM it starts picking up, we shall see though how it goes! For the most case when it starts going we will be running events back to back! I do apoloigies I could not run this Saturday or Sunday because due to work, and I wanted to give the Kaos community something fun this year in events!
Most events prizes are doubled, or even more!
Good luck everyone, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

 | QUEST - 2009-12-17 12:50:19 | | | QUEST: Meteor Shower (DELAYED) | | post by Mist | | Due to unexpected circumstances, I'll have to delay the Quest. It will be run soon though, early next week at the very latest.
Sorry about the mix-up. But I literally just found out this exact minute that I can't be around tonight. Also this should increase the turn out as, from what I could tell, tonight would have shown minimal interest
METEOR SHOWER
Story
The constellations above housing the Gods, offer a focal point of
prayer and
reverie among the great priests of divine temples in Syndar. These
constant prayers
and devotion have attracted the attention of those same celestial
bodies. They serve as a home in
the heavens, but have been known to often form some sort of cosmic
awareness. Each has become drawn to their followers, so much so, that
some of the higher priests holy incantations and ceremonies of
blessing have drawn actual pieces of the heavens crashing down to the
Realms. Each constellation in relationship to its God is entwined, yet
in a way strangely independent of him or her.
This becomes a dire problem when parts of these stars begin smashing
into ground near cities, causing havoc as the powers ebbing from the
meteorites
draw in or manifest as powerful monsters known as Golems, dangerously
close
to the populace centers. The already strong creatures are empowered
further as they
meld with meteorite remains and gain abilities associated with that
divinity. The astronomers of Syndar have begun construction of a
Planetarium in hopes of further studying the skies. They have also
informed the populace they will reward those
bringing them anything found at the crash sites once the structure is
completed.

 | QUEST - 2009-12-03 08:35:32 | | | QUEST: The Sinking Sands: A Pharaoh's Curse | | post by Mist | | The Sinking Sands The Story So Far
A team of explorers recently found a hidden passage within the center
pyramid which reveals the tomb of the oldest pharaoh, King Thothus,
also known as 'The Wurm King'. The tomb, left undisturbed for countless
centuries, was found writhing with ankle deep nests of infant Sandwurms
still alive from the time long ago of the King's burial. Thothus came
to power during an age when the Sandwurms were hunted for their hides,
which was most often used in a process to create a coveted and powerful
battle armor. With the Sandwurms nearing extinction, the Pharaoh
promised to save the ancient and mammoth creatures as he forbade the
slaughter of the simple beasts he'd grown to adore under punishment of
death by dehydration. Those found to have harmed or attempt ill will
towards the wurms were stripped and sent into harsh sandstorms where
whipping sands and winds would sear the skin from they bodies, leaving
them unrecognizable and left to wander the desert until death took hold
by dehydration. A horrible death indeed.
After King Thothus'
own death, hunting of the Sandwurms resumed and sadly they were
presumed extinct by the end of a decade. Inscribed upon the gilded
coffin of Thothus, however, was a curse describing the awakening of the
great wurms to guard his rest and ensure he is never disturbed a second
time. With this read by the explorers, the ground below the pyramids
shake sealing the passageways. Only the local guide escapes as the
researchers are buried alive in the rubble.
Fleeing to the
nearby town of Talendar, the guide passes the story on at a Dung's
Tavern. Even as he recounts the tale, patrons hear a commotion outside
and go out onto the sandy streets to see a massive dust cloud stirring
in the distance. The ancient Sandwurms, not seen by the eyes of this
generation before, have risen to the surface to protect their old ally.
Beginning to churn the sand around the pyramids, the wurms are slowly
dragging the monoliths under the timeless sands. If they not stopped
soon, the pyramids and those magnificent treasures held inside them
will be lost forever.
The head of Talendar, Mayor Garn, has
called for Syndar's bravest to remove the threat to the city's only
claim to fame. Without the pyramids, he fears the city will go under as
tourism evaporates, explorers and the like cease to have a reason to
visit the area.

This is Quest is to be run Dec. 3rd, 2009 with a roughly 6:30-7:00 start time. Be prepared and pass on the word.
The area in question will be level locked so you will require a level 25 character to participate! Prizes will be handed out at the end of the event to winning participants. Role playing is not required, but as always, is extremely welcome.
If you can't make it or don't have a character of that level yet, do not despair, next week will offer more quest opportunities!
